- Abstract: The rhetorical analysis rests on the fundamental presupposition that sentences can be analyzed in terms of discursivity and argumentativity. Such a claim depends on the following hermeneutical assumption : there is an incommensurable intention to argue. This paper suggests that this assumption may not be directly related to the art of composing and formalizing a text. Perrault’s tale will be studied here as a case example supporting this claim.
