- Abstract: Part of the matter of antiquity, the numerous Trojan accounts written in the medieval period distinguish themselves by the singular contemporaneity that translatio studii et imperii confers on them. This positioning entails a particular rapport with material realities and the documents evoking them. In manuscript copies, they are presented using two different modes –insertion and juxtaposition– but are always inscribed within a memorial and commemorative logic which aligns with the truth effect rather than the reality effect.
