Abstract: Whilst he can be critical of it, Deleuze seeks to invent a new history of philosophy, conceived of as an art of the conceptual portrait, a form of collage and theatre in which what matters most is not the creation of exact likeness but rather a resemblance which expresses the power of the concepts.
