Abstract: This work situates Julien Gracq in the context of his century, reacquainting us with the fundamental aspects of his poetry, his relationship to literature and the arts, his intellectual engagements, and his relationship to history. It presents us with the collection bequeathed to the BnF, and includes a complete bibliography of his work.
