  • Abstract: This article investigates the generalized uses of two second person pronouns, ka and mo, in Tagalog in a corpus of personal narratives. Their usage, we argue, is not simply grammatically determined but represents the ­complex choices by which the speaker presents their identity and stance in ­context.
