- Abstract: Between the wars, the popular novelist Jean de la Hire produced an impressive number of highly successful adventure novels aimed at young boys, with exclusively masculine heroes. Through a study of his works, this article analyses the model behaviours and values presented to young boys and adolescents in the 1920s and 1930s.
