  • Abstract: "Mixed religion" is a concept present in The Two Sources that has thus far received relatively little attention. And yet it is an essential idea which allows us to understand how the "complete mysticism" is able to fit into social and political reality. Thanks to the idea of "mixed religion", we understand that human societies were able to move from organic solidarity to yearning for fraternity. If we consider the social universe, only an incomplete opening could ever become a reality as reality; a complete opening could only become a reality for rare individuals and even then only in the form of hope placed in communities.
