- Abstract: “Outline of a Philosophical Characterization of Transhumanism”. Without denying the inspiring importance of the futurological, speculative imaginary, this essay seeks to avoid all exaggeration and fantasy, short-term prophecy, and technophilic fascination reduced to a catalogue of prospective innovations. Transhumanism has all the potential dimensions of a new philosophy, articulated around a central reflection on technology (technoscience) and evolution. The analysis emphasizes transhumanism’s critical relation to various partially obsolete humanisms.
