    . Scepticismes en politique
  • Author: Laborie (Karine)
  • Abstract: Often assimilated to a policy of wait-and-see and resignation, scepticism seems to purge politics of foundationalist ambition. But does it leave its practitioners helpless when it comes to the exercise of political power? We intend to show how Montaigne’s indifference and Pascal’s « double thinking » constitute the pivotal moments of two ethics of the exercise of political power, and that it is Pascal, more than Montaigne, who upholds the separation of the private interior and the public exterior.
