• Abstract: In « Le Voyage de Falaise », « L’Oranger et l’abeille », « La Bonne femme », three tales dating from 1697, a key-scene hinges on the discovery of lost children. The genre, the mystery surrounding the children and the plot combine to offer three variations on the topic of children lost and found. The weight of the stereotype is such that it seems to cramp the authors rather than stimulate them, or to lead their attempts at originality into incongruities.
