• Abstract: This chapter reconsiders Robert Greene’s prose romance, Pandosto or the Triumph of Time (c. 1588), and the narrative pattern of trajectories that lead from exposure to recognition. The mapping of this process breaks it down into successive, spatially defined stages, in contrast with the unreliability of words and the ensuing, fluctuating perception of facts and characters, which endanger the outcome of ultimate reunion.
