Abstract: The study of legal publications by Lyonnais printers and booksellers moves beyond the bibliophilic aspect of the question. Rather, in the specific context of the Humanisme juridique movement, it leads to an interrogation of the nature of this editorial enterprise, and to an exploration of what this reveals of the permanence of the somewhat archaic schemas of legal production in sixteenth-century France.
