Abstract: The château of Goutelas was the residence of Jean Papon, the Forézien legal practitioner and Renaissance figure of juridical humanism. A voluntary collective set about rebuilding the ruins of the château in 1961, and it is now home to a cultural project exploring humanism, law, and creativity. This work is one of the fruits of its labours.
