Abstract: Reflection on the rapports between humankind and its environment is caught between two tensions, both equally harmful or aporetic: on the one hand, an egotistical, authoritarian, and possessive humanism, and on the other, a radical anti-humanism. A middle way needs to be explored : that of a responsible and (doubly) united humanism, conscious of the primacy and equal dignity of humans as much as the existential dependency of humanity on nature, and the duties it has towards it.
