- Abstract: The numerous recommendations of books to read and of ideal libraries in the second half of the 18th century witness a certain number of convergent preoccupations: a rising interest in child and adolescent psychology, children literature, a reflection about a specific education for both sexes and different social classes and a conception of literature that hesitates between morality, celebrity and aesthetics without ever postulating the autonomy of literary creation.
