• Abstract: In 1762, Rousseau published his “rêveries d’un visionnaire sur l’éducation”. He regretted that “la littérature et le savoir de son siècle tendaient beaucoup plus à détruire qu’à édifier” and was conscious about the fact that in the study of nature, it is important to observe and to classify to be able to understand. Starting from Émile of Rousseau, Pestalozzi is following the path of Émile and put all his energy into a practical work.
