D’une épave de moissonneuse à l’épiphanie La Bataille de Pharsale de Claude Simon

- Abstract: A long description of a wreck of a harvester can be found in the middle of the novel La Bataille de Pharsale. Simonian writing lifts these fragments into another dimension. They evoke eroticism, forming a system of references which can considered as a whole. They fragment the linear narrative. These temporal fragments form the archives of the epiphany with which the novel begins: “Obscure dove crowned with saffron”.
