- Abstract: On the very first page of his Cahiers, Cioran speaks about his “envie de pleurer”. Ignatio de Loyola also speaks about tears in his Journal spiritual. Owing to this extreme sensitivity, Cioran and Loyola share the same inner decay. They succeeded in surpassing this inner decay in a similar way. Thus Cioran came to “Passer la lamentation dans le concept” by writing his Précis de décomposition. As to Loyola, he achieved the same by writing his Exercices spirituels.
