Abstract: Literary newspapers or weekly pages have played a key role between 1940 and 1945: as critical places for reviewing, land of intellectual and political combat, they are the natural space where one can talk about books… or not; indeed they participated in a real “war of writers”. However, it must also be considered how censors led to exercise a kind of self-censorship, sometimes more significant than explicit sentencing.
