Abstract: Casanova defended the “whimsicalities” of his writing, and liked to “write without rhyme or reason.” Purposely eclectic, the studies collected here are concerned with the contradictions of a thought as it rebounds from an experience, and with the extreme instability of an unclassifiable body of work.
