- Abstract: The idea that the blows meted out to the most controversial pages of Pleins Pouvoirs are of a stylistic kind is examined here in the form of a friendly argument between the two authors of this article. The first one shows that this is explained above all by an incomplete and anachronistic reading. The second suggests that, in this text, Giraudoux’s favored rhetorical devices expose him to misunderstandings, and that his taste for an oratorical style ill-suited to the political essay ends up producing a caricatural thought.
