- Abstract: Giraudoux’s imaginary world seems to be constructed in part by a movement of exclusion, symmetrical to the movement of election explicitly central to his oeuvre. Thus in Giraudoux the frontier is twofold: on one hand, it traces out the limits of his world; on the other, it delimits the entities that constitute it. His effort is entirely dedicated toward surpassing an abstract conception of the frontier, in order to make of it the site from which one might attain the territory in its diversity and its unity.
