• Abstract: A facetious lens proves productive here as a way to shed light on the restoration of erudite sources as well as explore the performative dynamic of the comic, Renaissance stage (imagined in all its diversity - and not limited to humanist comedy or the staging of a farce). This dialogue between the arts and vis comica reveals the originary and original dynamic peculiar to a humanist translatio of a facetious metis at the root of reconfigurations of the power to make people laugh.
