- Abstract: De eodem et diverso features two allegories, Philocosmia and Philosophia, who appeared to Adelard in his youth. This vision has a place in the tradition, which has become a topos, of the life choices to be made on the threshold of adulthood. The intertextuality at work in the poems of each allegory exceeds the Boethian model of prosimetrum: comparative study shows how they interact to establish the victory of Philosophia—a Philosophia who, however, announces the author’s future scientific options.
