- Abstract: The abbey of Saint-Denis appears throughout the work of Elizabeth Brown, and it became an independent subject of study. She is attentive to the points of view of different actors in the life of Saint-Denis, not only the sovereign’s, who wished to model the arrangement of his predecessors’ tombs or organize to his own advantage the worship accorded to saint Louis, but also the point of view of the monastic community, whose positions are made clear by works of historiography on Saint-Denis.
