- Abstract: Composed by Pierre Durand shortly before 1530, the prose version of Guillaume de Palerne presents many features worth of interest; this article analyses in particular the terms in which the author intervenes in the text, to refer to his verse model and to comment on the new romance he is in the process of constructing. As a result of these interventions, the prosateur is very much a presence in his text, and one ready to share with his readers his own moral interpretation of the story.
