Abstract: The Cahiers de mémoire are stories of genocide, but the recollections include what happened leading up to and following it, the stories unfolding in three parts: before, during, and after. Genocide remains the unifying thread, the epicenter. The naming of the dead and the enunciative and memorial narrative are joined together, restoring the life/the reality of the women and men who perished.
