- Abstract: “Semantic Technologies” aim at eliciting knowledge from heterogeneous resources (lexic, multimedia, etc.) by means of suitable algorithms and statistical analysis. In this context, we present TMEO, a semi-automatic interactive Q/A system for enabling population of semantic resources on the basis of ontological distinctions. The core function of TMEO (Tutoring Methodology for the Enrichment of Ontologies) is to support users in selecting the most adequate categorization of a term in a generic linguistic resource according to reference ontology. Different sequences of answers induce different mappings between the lexicon and the ontological layer, improving disambiguation process and enabling machineunderstandability of knowledge contents.
