• Abstract: By focusing on specific cases of judiciary errors, the interest of a certain number of excerpts of the Essays lies in making more perceptible that which does not fold them too quickly into a general and inherited weakness of human reason. The point is instead to analyze the rather different forms of their mechanisms and their effects, often terrible, which are a mixture of random presumptions and of sometimes intransigent institutional procedures.
