• Abstract: One of the strategies of dictators is to play mind games on citizens through lies and the destruction of memory. In Argentina, the dictatorial regime ‘­ignored’ the disappearance of 30, 000 people. To flee the terror, Argentineans exiled themselves, including Cristina Siscar who, in La sombra del jardín (1999), created a heroine exiled in France.
