The meaning-making fragment On a French pre-text in Margit Kaffka’s novel The years of Mary

The principal objective of this article is to interpret the question of the fragment from the point of view of the relationship between word and text. This study refers to an important Hungarian author of the twentieth century, Dezső Kosztolányi, and his thought. This contribution also includes an interpretation of another Hungarian writer, Margit Kaffka, with her novel entitled The Years of Mary (1913), in light of a French pretext: Flaubert’s Salammbô.
