Opération délicate : fragmenter

From the dramatisation of the fragmented body to the construction of choreography, the contemporary stage plays with fragments. In light of the work of Bertrand Lavier, the fragment reveals something other than the source. In choreographic writing, sub-units are interconnected to create complexity. This is different from working with the fragment which insists on a form of anteriority at work, an entirety already there. Is there a way of evading the sense of an “entire utterance”?
