Fragmented writing should not be considered as contradicting the idea of the totality, but as the horizon of a refusal of systematic thought. The works of Mauss as much as those of Beauvoir, Blanchot, or Leiris unveil a particular conception of the writing of the text which is never solely an aesthetic or an epistemological object. Writing the fragment is a total writing, to the extent that that the constellation is the very form of lived experience.
