Types d’extase dans l’oeuvre de Cioran

The theme of ecstasy is a very important one in Cioranian thinking since it epitomizes the sole possibility of transcending the ontological breach between subject and object. In the present work, I will conduct an analysis of the main types of ecstasy which Cioran describes in his writings. I will also reflect on the specificity of Cioranian ecstasy and on its differences from religious and mystical ecstasy.
